Ecothes establishes connections between environmental data—including temperatures and air quality measurements—and real-time climate events such as urban floods and heat waves, demonstrating the influence of climate change on daily urban life.[3] This approach educates public awareness by relating existing environmental data and real-time events with climate change impacts, helping residents understand how they are affected on a daily basis.[1] The initiative was unveiled through a workshop hosted by the Municipality of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as part of the LIFE SIRIUS European project, titled "Environmental Information in the City of Thessaloniki – Air Pollution & Health" on World Environment Day.[2]
Technical Components
