How we calculate match scores

This page features solutions tagged with heat-related hazards (heat waves or extreme hot weather). Use the city search tool above to find solutions matched to your specific city. We calculate match scores based on implementation capacity and climate similarity using six weighted factors:

Economic capacity (25%) — World Bank income classification
Population scale (20%) — Similar urban density and infrastructure needs
Days above 35°C (20%) — Primary heat stress indicator
Heatwave frequency (15%) — Number of heatwave events
Cooling demand (10%) — Cooling degree days (CDD)
Extreme heat days (10%) — Days above 40°C

Only matches scoring 50% or higher are shown.
